Webinar on Refugees: European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (EQPR), UNESCO Passport/ Refugees and Recognition – five years on held on 3 December 2020 at 14:00-15:30 CET in virtual modality

During and after the crisis that brought large numbers of refugees to Europe in 2015/2016, national authorities in Europe became more aware of the urgent need to address the obstacles that refugees face in making use of their qualifications. Five years on, the crisis may be less prominent from a media point of view, but it continues to pose challenges with regards to recognition. This webinar presents current initiatives, bringing together practitioners passionate about stimulating fair and effective recognition solutions for refugees, displaced persons and vulnerable migrants. Speakers from / based in Norway, France, Zambia and Italy will present recent achievements. The webinar will focus on the application of two instruments when dealing with assessment of qualifications when these are not fully documented – the European Qualifications Passport for Refugees (Council of Europe) and the UNESCO Qualifications Passport. The case study from Université Clermont Auvergne (France) will provide guidance on how to integrate refugees as teachers in universities. The webinar will be organized through short and to the point presentations and case studies.
